Texas Roadhouse Prices by State: 10-State Check 2026

What We Found Across 20 Texas Roadhouse Locations

We checked the same five items — a 6 oz Hand-Cut Sirloin, a 12 oz Ft. Worth Ribeye, Chicken Critters, a Regular Cactus Blossom, and a House Salad — at two restaurants in each of 10 states. Every price came from the restaurant’s official ordering menu, read on October 26, 2026. Nothing was estimated, and no price came from another menu website.

The headline finding is simple: the identical meal costs $18.00 more in the most expensive state than in the cheapest — 27.3% more for the same five items. The average basket across all 20 locations was $73.55, and the median was $73.20, so most locations cluster near the low $70s while California and the New Rochelle restaurant in New York pull the top up.

Four of the five items varied by location. Only the House Salad was the same price everywhere. Five states had identical prices at both of their sampled restaurants (California, Ohio, Georgia, North Carolina and Arizona). New York had the widest spread inside a single state — $7.50 between its two locations.

Which States Are Cheapest and Most Expensive?

Ranked by the average of the two locations we checked in each state, North Carolina was the cheapest and California the most expensive. The full ranking, cheapest to most expensive (mean 5-item basket):

The gap between the cheapest and the most expensive state is $18.00 — 27.3%. Put another way, the same five items cost more than a quarter extra in California than in North Carolina. New York ranks second most expensive on average ($79.70), but that average hides the widest spread in the study: its two restaurants were $7.50 apart. Georgia was the second cheapest at $67.95, with both of its locations identical.

Does Texas Roadhouse Have the Same Prices at Every Location?

No. The same five items cost anywhere from $65.95 to $83.95 depending on the restaurant — an $18.00 spread across just 20 locations. Texas Roadhouse prices are set per restaurant, not nationally, so the price on a national menu page is a typical price, not a promise. The only reliable price for a specific restaurant is the one on its own ordering menu. That is why this study read each price from the ordering menu of the restaurant itself, rather than copying a national figure.

Can Prices Differ Within the Same State?

Yes — and in New York, by a lot. New Rochelle’s basket was $83.45 while Cheektowaga’s was $75.95, a $7.50 difference inside one state, or about $2.00 per item. The two restaurants are roughly 350 miles apart, and the downstate restaurant was dearer on nearly every item.

Five states showed no within-state difference at all between the two locations we checked — California, Ohio, Georgia, North Carolina and Arizona had identical prices at both restaurants. Texas, Florida and Pennsylvania differed by $1.00, and Illinois by $1.50.

How We Conducted This Price Study

We chose 10 states and two cities in each, then read the same five items from each restaurant’s official ordering menu on texasroadhouse.com: a 6 oz Hand-Cut Sirloin, a 12 oz Ft. Worth Ribeye, Chicken Critters, a Regular Cactus Blossom, and a House Salad. The basket total is the sum of those five items. Prices were read on October 26, 2026. No purchase was made, no account was used, and nothing was added to a cart.

Where the city we set out to check has no Texas Roadhouse, we used the nearest listed location: Corona for Los Angeles (43.5 miles), National City for San Diego, Cheektowaga for Buffalo, Brooklyn for Cleveland, Douglasville for Atlanta (20 miles), Matthews for Charlotte, Wake Forest for Raleigh, Bridgeville for Pittsburgh, Royersford for Philadelphia, and Hilliard for Columbus. The Brandon restaurant’s address is in Tampa. These are noted in the table above.

One item was listed as Temporarily Unavailable at check time: the Cactus Blossom at Fort Worth (SW Loop 820/Hulen). Its $8.99 price was still shown on the menu, and the basket total uses it. We are re-checking that location.

Limitations: this is a sample of 20 restaurants, not every Texas Roadhouse in the United States, and two locations per state cannot represent a whole state. Prices can change after our check date.
